Transformation Rap Challenge 2019 - Mass Market Segment



Hey, I want to share some behind the scene stories of Transformation Rap Challenge 2019 that I Joined. First , what is Transformation Rap challenge 2019? It actually is a challenge to ,cover or lipsync a rap music video that is first sung by our BOD ... The song created and composed by a well known artist <a rapper> , and it's so catchy that everyone loves it!!! this challenge is participated by Every team of my office, from HQ to regional level. My team is also excited to be part of it, and i get the honor to be part of the creative team.
So after the challenge was broadcasted to all employee, my boss told us that we have to participate in this challenge. But first we have to decide whether to cover or Just lipsync the song .<we have to submit a video>. After some discussion , we decide to cover the song, because my team have so many talents to be wasted away if we just lipsync.
After the decision to cover the song is made, we try to focus to 2 main materials required ⇒

2. The video

1. The song
Covering a song means that we have to add some values to the original song. It can be a new arrangement that suits the culture / understanding / message that want to be highlighted by people who covers it.
Of Course it also applies in this challenge, we want to make this song ours! To give our identity in this song. Therefore we thought that to add Indonesian traditional instruments is the best way to start. After much consideration we decided to put Javanese & Minangkabau musicals instruments plus to modify the rap lyrics with those origin languages. I personally in charge to write the lyrics in Minangkabau
language.
After we know what we want with the song, it's time to find the vocalist. Because I genuinely love rap song, of course I volunteered to take part hahaha.. I also helped to find the perfect vocalist to the song. as well at to scout Mas Grita to sing the Javanese lyrics. Lol

2. The Video
We also come up with the concept of the video together. The storyline is based on the messages that we want to bring and also the heart of the song :
  • Transformation
  • Digital
  • Non HVC or Mass Market segment (my team identity).
The storyline then done, then we continue to the detail; the detail scenes, the cast, the cameo, and Finally the costume ... Ah also don’t forget that we had to come up with the choreography of the song , that is catchy but also easy to be followed by other 30 people' -- hehe--.

Personal notes :
The process of making this video cover is challenging honestly, to align the schedule of the bosses, idea making, the practices, it was all so tiring...
But overall it was also a fun activities with all the colleagues, all have the sense of belonging and always ready to support and help. Like I said before , my team has to much talent to
