My Journey to Kopka Coffee & You

So the story begins when i visited my friend, Ratna & Oky, in the hospital for their new born baby boy. I visit them in RS Mitra Keluarga Depok with Ice around 1 pm. As usual, we chit chatted a bit, hear the story of the babyborn process, hearing Ratna's experience and feelings, checking out the cute baby, and a little bit gosipping haha..
And then when it's time to go home, i wonder where i should go, it's sunday, and still 2 pm, i haven't had any lunch yet. Firstly I planned to see newest caffe in Perpustakaan Pusat UI, Javaroma Bottega del Caffe. I guess this caffe is replacing Starbucks, but I don't know for sure.. Because it's surely hadn't been existed till I graduated in 2015 😅
But I think it was not my lucky day, because on Sunday the caffe in Perpusat tend to close faster than weekdays hour, 12 to 1 pm max usually.. So I had to find another place to crash..
As usual, I go back to Zomato, and find Kopka Coffee & You, still in Margonda street, it's in the same building as Indomaret, after RS Bunda Margonda and a couple metres before JPO Gang Kapuk. It's easy to find it actually, because the sign is quite big.

Overall, I can say that I love this place, however I'm not sure whether if I will come back again or not. Here are some experience when I was there :

KOPKA COFFEE & YOU (3.85/5)

1. The Taste (4/5)
The food and drink are good. I specially like their signature Ice Coffee Kopka. It tastes like the usual ice coffee with milk, but it tastes fresh so I love it. I also ordered a Chicken Curry Noodle, it tastes fine even though I think it's quite flavorless.. May be it is quite subjective, it will vary for other people preference.
However, the name of the food is Chicken Curry Noodle, so i expect the curry will be like Marugame Udon curry, or as rich as Go Curry seasoning. In fact, it's not. So I hope, after you reading this, you get the idea and don't put high expectations :))
I didn't order dessert, so I can not say anything for this. But from what I read on Zomato review, they have pretty good dessert, so I think you should try it too if you visit it..

2. The Price (5/5)
You see the perfect score indeed 🙌
I just ordered 2 items, Chicken Curry Noodle and Ice Coffee Kopka, and it was only under IDR 50K. Can you believe it?? Actually i can't. After having a meal in Jakarta with its capitalism system, I was having a moment of mental breakdown inside- in front of the cashier.. lol
I think it's perfect for them though, because they are clearly targeting the university students, with limited power to buy and very much a price-sensitive buyer too.

3. The Ambience (3/5)
Like I generally told you that the caffe is in the same building with Indomaret. Kopka Coffee & You is on the 2nd floor, so you have take a stairs first to get there. Before you enter the caffe, you will be greeted by a soft sound from the wind tube, hanging beside the door. I think it's kinda sweet, after feeling weary with the hot-blazing-Depok.
You go inside, see an L shape long sofa, then the cashier space and kitchen, and another tables on the left. After ordering my food, I chose to sit on the sofa, waiting for my orders to arrived, I decided to take a book to read. I took a piece from Emha Ainun Najib (Cak Nun). Everything was so perfect.
I was fully drawn in the book, because it's been long since I read Indonesia literature again, and it made me content (Cak Nun is that good!), until....
Until one of the customer went to the loo...
Remember, the sopa is L shaped, and I sit in the middle of the vertical line of the letter L. The loo is in the end of the horizontal line. First, I thought it was kinda okay if the loo is side by side with customers seats. Until i heard the flush. Yes, the flush from inside the loo, when someone was using it. I'm sorry if it sounds scary and disgusting for you, but actually it's not a dirty place or anything, even there were not any smell at all, so don't judge it before you visit it. It's just me, and for me only it's kinda a deal breaker..
You know, like the "Oh Moment" described by Barney Stinson & Ted Mosby in HIMYM 😹
And it can be different for everyone :)

Oh they said they also have a praying space. But it's not in my sight from where I sit, and I kinda cut my visit short so I have no idea what it looks like :)

4. The Service (3/5)
The service is okayy..
Not the best in town, but okay.. Maybe the staffs are a little bit tired that afternoon, and or having personal problems right before I visit.. That's okay, they are so much younger than me too :)

5. The Unique (4/5)
I like the wind tube outside. I like the bookshelf, I personally love their book collections.
There is Paulo Coelho, The Naked Traveler, and other genres too..
And I also love how they put the food in small pot layered with coconut fiber.. It's one of their Key Selling Points (and it's all over the instagram too).

In Conclusion, if you never come to this place, then you should (even for once, or even for one drink)! :)
It's instagram worthy, affordable, and it tastes fine..! And don't forget to try the dessert, or you will regret it later like me hehe..

Personal opinion, If I go to Depok in the future, I will not visit Kopka Coffee & You again. One time experience is enough for me. There are so many places and caffe in Depok, that I also want to try badly. Now that I get the power to buy, compared to my qismin univ life wkwk, I just want to taste as many places as I can to enjoy :)
